Band of Jays

Here are Alice's jays - based on my drawings, and tattooed by Wayne Grace at New Wave Tattoo. (They could be a band, party or scold of Jays - Alice chose band).
This is the littlest one.

Brand New Mabboo Tees

The three new Tees I designed are back from the printers and available to buy - just in time for Christmas. Check out Mabboo's store here, and check out some really awful, quite trippy pictures I took of them on my living room floor whilst protesting against watching X Factor.

Mabboo Igloo

Here's a little flyer I did for our Mabboo Bamboo T-shirts - to help with the sales patter at the Mabboo stall at the Christmas Market in Bristol. Ed's been braving the cold to bring the good people of Bristol bamboo fabric tees. The market is on until Sunday 19 December - with special offers and deals - time raid those piggy banks!!

Masked Ball

Went to some friends' wedding the other weekend - I'd done their invitation (that wasn't the only reason they invited me...). The evening consisted of a masked ball, and here's mine, made of toys and papier mache. Hit the link below to see some more.

Here's some illustrations I did for Yard Partners, accompanying a piece on the website as a concept - regarding traffic, SEO, and making a website work for you.

Sales over at Mabboo - the new Bamboo clothing label from China - are well underway. More of my T-shirt designs are due to be added soon.

Modern Art is AWESOME #2: Coca Cola

Had great fun drawing our favourite products at the (potentially-lawsuit-inducingly-named) Ghost World at Brisbane Gallery of Modern Art's Children's Art Centre.

Mabboo now live

The Mabboo site and store are now live - with two Tee designs over three colours available to buy now.
There'll be more designs on the way soon, as well as more added to the site in the coming weeks - so check back soon.

Classic

Whilst in Hua Hin, Thailand I came across a whole set of book covers I worked on about 18 months ago whilst at e-Digital Design. Collins Classics - designed for the international market - are a series of 30 classic novels for Harper Collins.

Modern Art is AWESOME

No - not the Crystal Maze but some modern art in Brisbane. Brook Andrew's "The Cell" at the Institute of Modern Art to be precise. Looks more like the futuristic zone to me too...

Deepest Apologies

Normal service will be resumed shortly...

Farewell...

Dom's leaving card (sob sob). We will miss him. But he was really militant about the tea-making - not that I adhered to his strict regime, despite the threats. Props to the copywriters.

The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me

Here's a square serving bowl I painted in Prague back in May - only just got it back. The devil is based on a drawing I'd done that day in the Prague Toy Museum. They also had the Planet of the Apes dolls and MC Hammer & Vanilla Ice Barbies. Bitchin'.
Hit the link for a couple more shots if you're like...that interested...like James...at work...

Don't Get Lost Boys

No it is not the Backstreet Boys - but the... Lost Boys, who left on Saturday from Goodwood - bound for Mongolia as part of the Mongol Rally. Best of luck guys...Follow their antics in text form here

Utterly Dyer

Birthday card for a friend. He's a big fan (aren't we all) of Danny Dyer's old documentary on Bravo: The Real Football Factory. Never have I witnessed a broadcaster, with such a passion for their subject, captivate an audience as profusely as Dyer....it was alright.

The Power of Dreams

(No wait - that's Honda...Does Mazda even have a catchphrase? 'Zoom zoom' I'm being told - yeah - as in the faster you drive it, the less likely they are to see you in it). Anyway...
The Lost Boys are setting off on the Mongol Rally in a couple of weeks. They're doing-up the Blue Bullet as we speak - decorating it with their logo that I designed, along with some of their sponsors' stickers and ads. And in an unexpected blast from the past - the Blue Bullet is also sporting a Gasbusters poster I created last year. Hit the jump for a couple more shots of the car.

Mail from Canada

Received some of the brochures for Wanderings - an exhibition I has some work in - that took place at Hot Yoga on 20th in Saskatoon, Canada. The package included some other goodies too - in return for a screen-print. Thanks very much to Stef!

Do not collect £200

Here's a shot of my 'live illustration' at the Glug / D&AD Student Awards party, based on the theme of students setting off and getting out there. I'd like to say that most of it was done by young children helping me but I just can't lie to you – it is all my handiwork. Hit the jump for some more dodgy pics. Thanks to Gemma and John at Studio Output, and Rosie at Agency Rush, and Helen for the drinks runs!

Who? What? Why!

I was interviewed for a feature on the Why Create site. See some of my images and my Q&A here. (Add cringe-ing emoticon here)

Full thrust

Yes – another one. We're nearly out of wall space. The team are SO motivated right now - Brent would be so proud (sniff). Are YOUR afterburners on full thrust? Thought not.

Thursday 24 June 2010

Glug Glug Glug

I'm doing some live illustration at a Glug / D&AD Student Awards after-party this coming Tuesday. Picture from the D&AD site. More info here, and you can buy tickets via the Meetup page here. You might see some pictures on here ... depending on how it turns out. Watch this space...

Got Problems?

Whenever I feel I am facing a difficult 'pregnant mother of a solution' at work - I take a deep breath and stop to gaze at one of the many pieces of artwork up around the agency. Yet another motivational screen-print for the office. The copywriter (i.e. not me) is working overtime on these. More to come soon.
