hellohead
Really enjoyed getting involved in hellohead earlier this year. Illustrators from across the UK have been paired up to draw one another, with an auction at the end to raise money for the National Autistic Society. See my portrait of Simon Tozer, and Simon Tozer's portrait of me on the hellohead site

How's My Grilling?
Coming to a festival near you this summer: the Blas Burgerworks Street van! The St Ives-based burger restaurant, revered for its organic ingredients, locally-sourced produce, sustainable credentials (and most-importantly tasty burgers) is going on the road this summer. They asked me to put together a design for the 'Blasmobile', which was unveiled last weekend at the Golowan Festival, Penzance, and the Quay Fair day. The design was very kindly artworked onto the van by the good people at Signs Express, Exeter. All this thinking about Blas Burgers is making me hungry. Cornish Blue Cheeseburger please. I wonder if they'll deliver to Brighton...(picks up phone)...
In their own words: 3.5 tonnes of burger love coming your way! Follow Marie, Sally, Lisa and the team's antics here, here and here ! Phew!

Halsetown Inn Mural # 2
Here's a much larger mural I did in the dining room of the Halsetown Inn. Somewhat eclipsed by the massive pews, but hey they're essential for the hundreds of people that'll be in to try Chef Baxter and the crew's new menu and wine list! So the new management love all the appaloosa horses in the surrounding fields, so they had to make an appearance, along with their new slogan and the area's beautiful scenery.
This horse is small:

Halsetown Inn Mural # 1
Here's some shots of a mural I did for the Halsetown Inn, a pub in Halsetown, just inland from St Ives, Cornwall. It has just been taken over by the Blas Burgerworks crew. This painting is in the hallway of the pub, greeting all the tourists and locals alike with a scene from the surrounding countryside...

Create in Brighton
Was shortlisted and went on to win the Create in Brighton imagery competition recently, run by Frank PR, Drink In Brighton and sponsored by Tiger Beer. It was a complete surprise after seeing the high standard of work, especially in photography and illustration. A massive thanks to everyone who voted for the work on Facebook, and to the judges Lomokev, Lawrence Zeegen and Sarah Arnett. Hopefully it returns again next year!

I completed my very first (and potentially last) marathon yesterday! As a mild asthmatic I wheezed my way round the Brighton Marathon on Sunday morning, accompanied by my standard unavoidable Darth Vader sound effects for 26.2 miles. My speed eased off a little as I toured the quite frankly inspiring Shoreham Industrial Estate... A massive thanks to absolutely anyone who cheered, shouted, swore (or moaned about a road being closed) as I straggled past. It was absolutely awesome to not be crouching over a computer for a morning.
I did it to raise money for NASS (the National Ankylosing Spondylitis Society). You can sponsor me here. A huge thanks to everyone who has already sponsored me for NASS. Long may their work continue.

Watership High
Following on from the Blas panorama, I recently painted a mural in a toddler's bedroom, with a lot of help from The Alice! Here's some shots of the woodland scene that covered the two bright yellow walls, including: hedgehogs, worms, mushrooms, bunting, spiders, squirrels, diggers, clouds, planes, hot air balloons, kites, trees grass and birds ... phew! The birds are very happy - not angry FYI.

NASS Active Light
Recently designed a mini-publication for the National Ankylosing Spondylitis Society, focussing on their fundraising accomplishments. I also created a logo for their new campaign of events taking place in June 2012 - Natter with NASS. I'm also running the Brighton Marathon for NASS next month, so expect to be inundated with sponsorship requests yeah?
